Meet your teacher!

Katie is a teacher turned artist. She brings over a decade of teaching experience and a passion for creativity to her classes. She taught in elementary schools for nine years, including six years in the Boston Public Schools, and is currently in her second year as a museum educator at the Museum of Fine Arts. Katie holds an M.Ed. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, a degree in Elementary Education from Boston College, and holds MA teaching licenses in Elementary Education and as a Reading Specialist.

Katie also has a strong background in the arts. With a degree in Art History from Boston College, she has shared her love of art as an educator at the MFA. She’s also a published illustrator of four books and an artist whose work is sold in stores throughout the country. Katie is excited to combine her teaching and artistic experience to create a fun, welcoming, and enriching space for young artists.
